The Office of Employment and Training, in cooperation with its partners,
shall provide qualified people for jobs, quality jobs for people, temporary
financial support for the unemployed, comprehensive labor market information,
and preserve the integrity and viability of the Unemployment Insurance Trust
Fund, thus promoting the economic well-being of the Commonwealth.
The
Kentucky Office of Employment and Training (OET) is
part of the
Department for Workforce Investment. OET
Staff provide job services, unemployment
insurance services, Labor Market Information,
and training opportunities.

Job Services match available workers with
employers who need their skills and
experience. Work search and referrals may be
conducted locally, statewide and nationally.

Unemployment Insurance
provides short term benefits for those who
are unemployed through no fault of their
own.

Labor Market Information
contains a wide range of statistical data on
employment and wage patterns. It is
available locally, statewide and nationally
to both businesses and job seekers.

Training opportunities are available
through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
for Adult Dislocated Worker and Youth who
meet certain eligibility criteria.
