Retire the thought of retirement for 83-year-old state worker
Christine Crowe is not your typical worker. At 83, she is the oldest full-time employee of the Kentucky Education Cabinet and after more than 47 years on the job, retirement is not in her vocabulary. Read more in the OET Insider Volume 8, Issue 2 May 19, 2006.

 

 

 

 

 


OET-Henderson Supports Deployed Soldiers

Henderson OET Staff PhotoThe staff at the OET-Henderson office send pre-paid phone cards and greetings to our deployed soldiers in Iraq.  Wanting to let our soldiers know that we continue to support and think of them as they serve our country, the Local Veterans Employment Representative, Art Hayden, accepted donations and purchased 19 phone cards for $185 from the Ft. Campbell KY Post Exchange.  The phone cards, from 50 to 200 units each, will give the soldiers of the 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Iraq the chance to keep in touch with their families while serving far from home. Barbara Underwood, right, accepted the NADO Award from Board Member Service member Steve Miller during the October TENCO WIB annual meeting held in Morehead.  In addition to OET, other partners included in this award were Temple-Inland, Mitsubishi Electric Automotive, NAACP, Dayton Power and Light, Northeast Health Education Training Center, Emerson Power and Transmission, FKI Logistex, and the Maysville-Mason County Chamber of Commerce.
